Common questions
Why do I owe tax on my RSUs when my employer withheld?
Employers usually withhold federal tax on vesting RSUs at a flat 22% supplemental rate. If your bracket is higher, the difference comes due when you file, and estimated payments or extra withholding can cover it during the year.
Is it worth hiring a CPA for a simple return?
If your return is truly simple, software may be enough. A CPA tends to pay off when there's equity compensation, rental property, self-employment, a big life change, or you want planning during the year instead of a surprise in April.
